A Buddhist Perspective: Death & a Meaningful Life public talk
with Gen Kelsang Demo
US Western and Midwestern National Spiritual Director & Resident Teacher at the International Kadampa Retreat Center Grand Canyon
FRI October 31 | 6:30 - 8:00pm
Gen Demo will explain the life-enhancing meditation on death. Gaining experience of this meditation will enable us to not only deal skillfully with our grief but also help those who are dying or have died. In particular it will allow us to acknowledge our own impermanence and transform the truth of our death into a life-enhancing energy that will empower us to truly make the most of our lives, to live and die joyfully and meaningfully.
“There is nothing more precious than our human life. Having been born as a human being we have immense freedom to accomplish almost anything we want. With so much freedom, we need to ask ourself what is the most meaningful way to use our life. What will make us truly happy? What will benefit others most? And when this life is over, what will help us then?”
