Offering our Faith   — Celebrating the 90th birthday of Venerable Geshe-la A  special retreat day to offer our faith to Venerable Geshe Kelsang  Gyatso Rinpoche guided by Gen-la Kelsang Dekyong at Manjushri KMC 

This week, as Venerable Geshe-la turns 90, we’ll be celebrating his life by taking a look at some of his remarkable accomplishments that have contributed to the flourishing of Modern Kadampa Buddhism throughout the world. 

Venerable Geshe Kelsang’s actual birthday falls auspiciously on June 4th, Turning the Wheel of Dharma Day, and for hundreds of thousands of people throughout the world, he turns the Wheel of Buddha's teachings for them.

On  June 4, Turning the Wheel of Dharma Day, we celebrate the 90th birthday  of our precious spiritual guide Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso  Rinpoche.  Every day we remember the extraordinary kindness of  Venerable Geshe-la, our Root Guru and Founder of the New Kadampa  Tradition, but on this auspicious day, with minds of rejoicing and  gratitude, we will offer him our faith through using the special prayer Request to the Holy Spiritual Guide Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso from his Faithful Disciples and collecting our Guru’s name mantra in a one-day retreat. Everyone is welcome to take part.  Gen-la  Kelsang Dekyong, the General Spiritual Director of the NKT-IKBU and  Resident Teacher at Manjushri KMC, will give a brief introduction the  previous evening. There will be three sessions of retreat using the  sadhana The Hundreds of Deities of the Joyful Land According to Highest Yoga Tantra and the special request prayer. In the evening, the retreat will conclude with Offering to the Spiritual Guide for long life.   We are offering to watch and engage in person (limit 9 people) at KMC Bloomington or you can live stream from your home with this link.

5:00 - 6:30pm — Offering to the Spiritual Guide chanted prayer
