Sacred Sound: Healing with Mantra
beginner friendly guided meditation retreat

Gen Chokyi will introduce the special breathing meditation known as the OM AH HUM meditation. This meditation combines the breathing with a simple mantra recitation. Mantra actually means “mind protection”, and internally chanting these sacred sounds can bring peace and healing.
Join us as we learn how to incorporate this simple, powerful form of practice into our daily lives. Each of three sessions will consist of clear instruction followed by guided meditation Everybody welcome!
What to expect? Gentle guided meditations, short teachings as well as Q&A in the last session. Everyone can benefit from this course— you don't have to be Buddhist to participate.

This retreat will be using the book New Meditation Handbook and Meditations for Relaxation booklet Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche. It's not required to have these books, but some people like to have them on hand during the event or read more afterward. You can purchase books in our Bookstore & Shop.

TEACHER
As a student of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, Gen Kelsang Chokyi has been practicing Kadampa Buddhism for 21 years and is an ordained American Buddhist nun. She is the Resident Teacher at KMC Bloomington and KMC Indianapolis. With joy, wisdom, and experience, she shows how everyone can easily integrate Buddha’s teachings into daily life.
