Basics of Buddhist Meditation
Mini Mediation Retreat in silence

SAT, Mar 25

10am- 1pm

Unplug and enjoy a morning of silence with these precious meditations being guided by Gen Kelsang Chokyi.

Buddha’s teachings, also called Dharma, means protection. These ancient teachings are modern. We can apply Lamrim meditations to our challenges in daily life to protect our minds and shift from being stressed and discouraged. Thus, we can learn through practicing meditation how to become our own protector.

Everyone is welcome to come to this retreat; no meditation experience is necessary.

10:00 - 11:00am — Session 1

11:15am - 12:00pm — Session 2

12:15 - 1:00pm — Session 3

As a student of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, Gen Kelsang Chokyi has been practicing Kadampa Buddhism for 19 years and is an ordained American Buddhist nun.
She is the Resident Teacher at KMC Bloomington. With joy, wisdom, and experience, she shows how everyone can easily integrate Buddha’s teachings into daily life.

This retreat will be using the book Modern Buddhism by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche. It's not required to have this book and booklet, but some people like to have them on hand during the event or read more afterward.

You can purchase books in our Bookstore & Shop — check out our Shop schedule.

You can register for the mini meditation retreat or pay at the door.
