Perspective is Everything
Retreat & Lunch (optional)

SAT, June 8

10:00am - 1:00pm | Retreat

1:00 - 2:00pm | Lunch

In his wisdom teachings, Buddha reveals the true nature of reality - emptiness, which opens the door to limitless possibility. Of all Buddha’s teachings, none are more far-reaching and transformative than his teachings on emptiness. It is through our understanding of emptiness that we can then come to solve all our problems, fulfil all of our wishes for peace and happiness, and be of maximum benefit to others.

“If all the necessary atmospheric causes and conditions come together, clouds will appear. If these are absent, clouds cannot form. The clouds are completely dependent upon causes and conditions for their development; without these they have no power to develop. The same is true for mountains, planets, bodies, minds and all other produced phenomena. Because they depend upon factors outside themselves for their existence, they are empty of inherent, or independent, existence and are mere imputations of the mind.”
- Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche

On this retreat you will learn:

— The connection between karma and emptiness
— How the 8 extremes tap into unlocking your potential

— Exploring how to perceive the 8 extremes in daily life to release ourself from painful moments due to uncontrolled desire

The retreat is suitable for those who are familiar with Buddhist philosophy on emptiness. It includes guided meditations, short teachings as well as Q&A in the last session. Everyone can benefit from this retreat — you don't have to be Buddhist to participate.

This retreat is followed by an optional vegetarian lunch ($8), please register for the lunch online by Thursday, June 6 to participate so we can prepare accordingly.

You can register for the retreat online or in person at KMC Bloomington's reception.
