Living Positively in a Troubled World
Mini Mediation Retreat
SAT, June 3
10am- 1pm
When we look at the world around us we might sometimes feel despondent or discouraged. It can seem impossible to be happy — both with the difficulties we face in our everyday lives and the troubles in the world at large. How can we feel positive and live positively in such a troubled world?
Learn how to turn negativity into a powerful force for empowering our mind. Instead of feeling stuck and helpless, we can use these challenges to develop positive states of mind such as compassion, wisdom and love. This not only makes us emotionally strong and joyful, but also enables us to bring happiness to those around us.
TEACHER
Kadam Tom Mitchell has been a student of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso for twenty-five years. Previously he has served as the first Resident Teacher of Kadampa Buddhism in Indiana. His teachings are often spiced with humor which enable busy modern people to benefit from ancient Buddhist wisdom in their day-to-day lives.
