Moving Away from Distractions
Friday Night Talk

FRI, Dec 15

6:30 - 8pm

with Gen Kelsang Chokyi, Resident Teacher

in person and live stream (for members)

Following distractions obstructs our ability to connect with our inner peace. By cultivating and maintaining mindfulness we can train to prevent distractions and focus our attention in a beneficial and meaningful way. However, we first need to know what causes our distractions so that we can recognize them and then apply opponents to reduce them through mindfulness and alertness — we do this through meditation formally and then in the meditation break, daily life. Through controlling our mind, we will connect to more authentic and deeper levels of mental peace and stability.

Talk, retreat or both — you choose.

Register online or in person
at KMC Bloomington's reception.

Relax into to your mental peace during this guided retreat that you will engage in silence.

Concentration serves to focus our mind single-pointedly through using mindfulness and alertness. In this retreat, we will experientially explore how to generate more mindfulness and alertness in meditation through exploring the precious mind of compassion. Each session will include guided meditations and short talks to inspire us harness the power of our minds through cultivating our concentration.

No experience necessary — cushy chairs and cushions — everyone is welcome!
