THURSDAY, Apr 15 | 6:30AM | Nynungnay Purifying Retreat

An Empowerment is a special guided meditation and ritual ceremony in which we receive extraordinary blessings that awaken our Buddha Nature and heal our mental continuum. When we receive an Empowerment, we are sowing the special seeds of enlightenment upon our very subtle mind.

Compassion is one of the highest qualities we can develop as human beings. Pure compassion is a mind that finds the suffering of others unbearable, but it does not make us depressed. It gives us tremendous energy to work for others and to complete the spiritual path for their sake. It shatters our complacency and makes it impossible to rest content with the superficial happiness of satisfying our worldly desires, yet in its place we will come to know a deep inner peace that cannot be disturbed by changing conditions. Our compassion is our Buddha seed or Buddha nature, our potential to become a Buddha. It is because all living beings possess this seed that they will all eventually become Buddhas.
